Male arrested for juvenile crimes including firearms, threats

A teen was arrested in relation to an alleged crime that occurred on social media and at a high school. The California resident, a juvenile, has been charged with threatening to shoot another teen and for possession of a stolen handgun. The juvenile crimes could carry serious penalties for the boy, who is only 14 years old.

A report of a supposed threat alerted the authorities to the potential danger. Allegedly, the child has threatened via social media to come to the local school and shoot an 18-year-old student. The school is an alternative school which is run by the local county Probation Department.

After authorities became aware of the threat, they went to the individual's home. The boy was already on probation for a previous firearms offense. They were able to arrest the boy without incident, but allegedly found a loaded 9mm handgun laying on his bed. The gun was reportedly stolen ten years ago in another California town.

The juvenile crimes that this California teen is accused of carry serious consequences. Since the boy was already on probation, he may be facing increased penalties. The boy will have the opportunity to defend himself against the charges in court, since he remains innocent before the court until and until proved guilty. The burden of proof will be on the state to establish all element of the crimes charged in court. Other individuals facing similar charges in the state may choose to defend themselves with the aid of an experienced criminal defense attorney who can help build a strong defense against any criminal allegations.
