Allegations of drunk driving follow California crash

Accidents can happen at any time of day or night for a variety of different reasons. However, when they occur at certain times of the day, such as during the early morning hours, police may be more prone to assume that alcohol or drugs played a role. For example, a driver in California now faces accusations of drunk driving following an early morning crash.

The incident happened at approximately 3:45 a.m. on a morning in December. According to reports, a driver is accused of crossing into oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, his sedan allegedly struck another vehicle head-on.

Police say that the driver they believe caused the accident ran from the scene. A K-9 unit was allegedly able to locate him nearby, and he was taken into custody. Reports indicate that the man does not have a driver's license. One of the drivers involved suffered injuries that are described as moderate and was taken to the hospital. The drivers of each of the involved vehicles were the only occupants.

Although the man was booked, it is unclear what charges he faces or what evidence supports allegations that he was under the influence. Unfortunately, drunk driving allegations alone can have serious consequences. In order to fully respond to such charges, many in California seek the help of an experienced criminal defense attorney who can help defendants fully understand the charges against them as well as their options to respond to them. Such a professional can provide some relief to the stress of going through the criminal justice system.
